Professional Plan delivered smoothly

I signed up for the Professional Plan API last month. The ordering process was simple on their website. I got instant access to the API keys. The Real-time Exchange Rates feed started working right away, and I tested the Time-Frame Queries, which also worked perfectly. I needed to clarify something about the API usage monitoring, and their dedicated support replied within a few hours, which was pretty good. The HTTPS encryption is a nice security touch. Everything has been running reliably since then. Integration with my app was quick, much faster than I expected.

Works great for my app!

I bought the Business Plan API and it's fantastic! The 168 world currencies and precious metals rates are exactly what I needed. My app's currency conversion endpoint is super fast now. I'm so happy with it!

Good value, minor integration hiccup

I purchased the Basic Plan API a few weeks ago for a small project. The real-time exchange rates are accurate, and the JSON API access was straightforward to set up, though the interactive documentation could use a few more Python examples. Overall, it's a solid service for the price, definitely beats manually updating rates.

Is the free plan actually useful for anything or just super limited? I'm just building a small side project.

For a small app, the free plan might be enough to get started. It's got basic JSON API access and real-time rates.

It's decent for testing things out. HTTPS is supported too, which is nice. But if you need historical data or lots of requests, you'll hit limits pretty fast.

Thinking of signing up for a paid plan. Does Currencylayer offer any discounts for annual billing like other services do?

M Marcus 1 month ago
Yeah, if you pay yearly, they usually give you a pretty decent discount. Saves you some cash over the monthly thing.

I switched from monthly to annual a while back, got about 20% off. It applies automatically at checkout, so no coupon codes to hunt down.

I'm looking at Currencylayer vs Fixer.io. Anyone have experience with both and can say which is better for a business application?

R Renee 2 weeks ago
I've used both. Currencylayer has been more reliable for me, and their documentation felt a bit clearer.

It really depends on your needs. I found Currencylayer's support to be more responsive when I had an issue. Their data sources also seemed more robust, at least for the currencies I was tracking.

What payment methods do they accept? Just curious before I get too far into the signup process.

J Julia 1 month ago
Pretty standard stuff, I think all major credit cards. Don't remember seeing PayPal though.

Yep, standard credit card options. I paid with Visa last year for my professional plan, no issues.
